The Graduate School stands in solidarity with the Asian community and vehemently denounces the anti-Asian violence that has occurred recently. UT Austin President Hartzell issued the following statement:

“The news out of Atlanta is reprehensible, eliciting fears the victims were targeted for their race or gender. As a  university, we have a responsibility to educate, and I’m grateful for UT faculty & staff holding a workshop on combatting anti-Asian racism: https://bit.ly/30SoIZ2. No one should live in fear of hatred and violence. In the days and weeks ahead, I will be having more conversations with Asian American faculty, staff, and students about other steps the university can take to support our AAPI community members."

Please join us in supporting our Asian friends and colleagues.
