Have you ever struggled to connect with peers because you do not drink? Does the drinking culture of academia seem difficult to navigate? Have you ever felt uncomfortable in networking situations that involve alcohol? Do you wonder whether or not disclosing that you are sober will impact your career?

Being sober in academia is a gratifying experience, but it comes with its own unique set of challenges. Whether you are sober for personal, religious, and/or health reasons, or just sober curious, meeting with and learning from other sober graduate students and academic faculty is an important part of building community on campus and developing a professional identity that aligns with your values.
