Key dates for graduate students are listed below. Defer to the Academic Calendar and Course Schedule produced by the Office of the Registrar for official registration and payment deadline information.

 Spring 2026

Nov. 3-14Registration for continuing and readmitted students.
Nov. 18Fee bills electronically distributed. Students notified by email.
Dec. 15-19Registration for continuing and readmitted students who have not yet registered. 
Payment due 5 p.m. January 15.
January 8-11Registration for all students who have not yet registered. Bills due 5 p.m., January 15. 
Add/drops for registered and paid students. Added tuition due January 28.
January 12First class day.
January 12-15Late registration for all students not yet registered. $25 late fee in effect Jan. 15-Jan. 20. Payment due 5 p.m., January 15.
Jan. 12-28 
(First 12 class days) 
Delete drop period. 
Classes added, dropped and grade status changed online from Jan. 12-15. 
Classes added, dropped and grade status changed in the department offering the course from Jan. 16-28.
January 15Tuition and fee payment due by 5 p.m. Students with zero bills must confirm their registration online to prevent cancellation.
Jan. 16-28Late registration for all students not yet registered through the department offering the course. $50 late fee in effect. 
Payment due 5 p.m. Jan. 28.  
Add/drop for students who are registered and paid. Add bills due Jan. 28.
Jan. 28The Twelfth Class Day. Last day to add/drop a course with a refund. 
Payment for added classes due by 5 p.m. Late registration after this date incurs a $200 late registration fee.
Jan. 29-Feb. 9Q drop period. Courses may be dropped without academic penalty. 
Approval of the Graduate Adviser and Graduate Dean required.
Feb. 10-April 27Q/F drop period. Dropping a course requires the approval of the instructor, who must assign a "Q" or "F," the Graduate Adviser and the Graduate Dean. 
April 10Last day to apply for a graduate degree.
Last day for new doctoral candidates to change registration to dissertation.
April 10Last day a doctoral candidate may hold a dissertation defense for Spring 2026.
April 13Last day to change grade status to or from the credit/no credit basis.
April 24Last day to submit final paperwork to the Graduate School for graduation.
April 27Last class day. This is the last day to drop a class or withdraw from the spring semester.

Summer 2026

April 6 - April 17 Registration for continuing and readmitted students.
May 5Fee bills electronically distributed. Students notified by email.
May 18- May 20Continued registration for continuing and readmitted students. 
Add/Drops for students who have paid.
May 27- June 3Registration for all students (For all summer sessions) 
Add/Drops for students who have paid.
June 9Tuition and fee payment due by 5 p.m. Students with zero bills must confirm their registration via the Web to prevent cancellation.
July 10Registration for students enrolling for second session only. Tuition and fees must be paid or zero bills confirmed by 5 p.m. on July 16.
July 13Last day for new doctoral candidates to change registration in research hours to dissertation hours.
July 31Last day to apply for a graduate degree. 
Last day a doctoral candidate may hold a dissertation defense for summer 2026.
August 14Last day to submit final paperwork to the Graduate School for graduation.

First Session– June 4–July 9
