UT Austin Master’s Alumna Wins Pulitzer Prize in History

UT Austin History alumna Ada Ferrer (M.A., ’88) has been awarded the 2022 Pulitzer Prize in history for her book “Cuba: An American History,” a study of Cuba and its complex ties to the United States. Earlier this year, the book also won the Los Angeles Book Prize in History.

Robert Chesney Appointed Dean of the School of Law

The University of Texas at Austin has selected Robert (Bobby) Chesney to serve as the next dean of the School of Law. Chesney, who currently holds the James A. Baker III Chair in the Rule of Law and World Affairs and has served as the school’s associate dean for academic affairs for more than a decade, will begin his new appointment July 1. He succeeds Ward Farnsworth, who will step down after 10 successful years as the school’s dean.

UT Austin Students Win National Urban Design Competition

April 11, 2022
A multidisciplinary team of students from The University of Texas at Austin has won the 20th annual Urban Land Institute (ULI) Gerald Hines Student Competition. Composed of students from the School of Architecture and the McCombs School of Business, the team was awarded $50,000 for its forward-looking redevelopment plan for a mixed-use site in Oakland, California.
