UT Austin Ranked No. 1 Producer of Research Doctorates

The University of Texas at Austin is the leading producer of research doctorates in the U.S., according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.

In the Chronicle’s examination of doctorates granted by universities during the 2016-17 academic year, UT Austin ranked No. 1 for awarding 849 doctorates in the fields of education, engineering, humanities and the arts, life sciences, mathematics and computer sciences, physical and earth sciences, and psychology and social sciences.

Graduate School Holds 2018 Convocation

On May 19, 2018, the Graduate School at The University of Texas at Austin held convocation ceremonies celebrating its graduating master’s and doctoral students.

More than 2,300 students earned graduate degrees during the 2017-18 academic year. More than 3,000 friends and family members attended each of the two ceremonies at Bass Concert Hall on the UT campus.

Graduate School Announces 2018 Award Winners

The winners represent a diverse community of students, scholars, teachers and administrators at the university. This year’s recipients were honored at an awards banquet held May 1, 2018 at the University Union.

UT Austin Has 49 Top 10 Programs in U.S. News Ranking of Graduate Schools

AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas at Austin is one of the public universities with the most top-ranked schools and academic programs in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 edition of “Best Graduate Schools,” released this morning. The university has five programs ranked No. 1 and 49 schools and specialties ranked among the nation’s top 10.
